This product category is for hand-washed fresh raw swallow nests. The nests have been processed and prepared, so no further major cleaning necessary, it's a ready-to-cook product.

Objective facts:
1. GOLDEN NEST uniformly has the highest Swallow Nest content. All GOLDEN NEST products are guaranteed to have 44% of Swallow Nest content.
Other products commonly use less than 10% of Swallow Nest and then add additives (usually Sodium Alginate) to enchance it.
2. GOLDEN NEST uses the highest raw Swallow Nest quality.
Backed by its parents company, Moriah Group (one of the world's largest Swallow Nest farmer, manufacturer, and exporter), all raw Swallow Nest of GOLDEN NEST products are exclusively selected to be the highest quality Swallow Nest possible.
Cooked Swallow Nest: a. High Quality Swallow Nest: * Shapes: long strands. * In Soup: expanded, floating (even without additives) * Texture: Soft, slightly elastic.
b. Low Quality Swallow Nest: * Shapes: short, crumb-like. * In Soup: Solid, sinking (if no additives) * Texture: crunchy, brittle
Note: If there is a Swallow Nest Soup product that doesn't match the either descriptions above (e.g.:long strands, but very soft, not elastic at all), its a good possibility the product does not use real Swallow Nest.
3. GOLDEN NEST contains no preservatives AND no additives. While some Swallow Nests soup products in the market are preservative-free,
most contain additives (usually Sodium Alginate). This additive will manipulate the soup viscosity, so the Swallow Nest content will look 'more'.
Unfortunately, even they use additive, not all of them state it in their packaging description.
Swallow Soup properties: a. No additive: * If the bottle is shaken gently: the Swallow Nest is freely floating. * If the bottle is shaken vigorously: the bubbles quickly burst. * After taste: none.
b. With additive: * If the bottle is shaken gently: the Swallow Nest stands still. * If the bottle is shaken vigorously: the bubbles will be 'trapped' for a while. * After taste: 'slippery' taste, like seaweed.
4. GOLDEN NEST is the first and only Swallow Nest Soup products that has been officially inspected and approved by three US government agencies. Besides FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), GOLDEN NEST products have also been inspected and approved (the first & only one) by USFWS (United States Fish and Wildlife Service). The reason is because of the high content of swallow nest are used in GOLDEN NEST products (swallow nest is a regulatednatural product, under USFWS rules.)

Q.Some people say that the whiter the nests,the better quality they are.Is it true ?
A.Not always. The natural color of white swallow nests is either grayish or yellowish white,not paper-color white. Of course,if the nest color is way too dark,the price is usually cheaper. Some manufacturers try to 'upgrade' these cheap nests by bleaching them. The result is whiter nests. Are these nests better?Better color than their original color?Yes.Better quality nests? Absolutely not.

Q. Is there any way to determine whether the nests we bought were bleached before or not?
A.The best way to get good quality nests is to get it from a reputable brand and purchase it from your trusty retailer.However, generally bleached nests have these characteristics: the nests color for the whole box/package is uniformly off white, the nests tend to be thinner (as the bleaching agent is abrasive), the nests will not expand a lot in the water (good nests should expand 4 - 8 times in the water), and after cooked, most of the nests are dissolved and the soup almost doesn't have any smell (good nests soup should have strong egg-like smell). The last two is because the bleaching agent might have changed the natural chemical composition of the nests.

Q.I notice the size of swallow bird nests. With that small size, how could it accommodate a couple of swallow birds?
A. Unlike other birds, swallow bird does not live IN its nest. It just perches on the edge of the nest. The nest is just for laying their eggs and later, for their chicks.

Q.With swallow bird becomes farmed bird that produces nests, how could the swallow nests price still very high?
A. Please think swallow nest farm as bee farm. The swallow bird and the bee are still wild. They can fly wherever or whenever they want. However, bee farm is easier, as the farmer will move 'the farm' around so the bees will get the best environment. Not for swallow nest farm. The swallow bird population in certain areas is limited with the certain insect population, as its diet. As the demand is steadily growing, to boost the supply is somewhat difficult and slow. Flying insect farm, anyone?

Q. What is Sodium Alginate (Stabilizer) ?
A. Sodium Alginate is a popular food additive. It's made mainly from sea weed. Usually sold in the market in the brownish powder form.

Q.Except GOLDEN NESTc, why do so many other brands use Sodium Alginate (Stabilizer) ?
A.Sodium Alginate has benefits in bottled swallow nest industry as follow : 1.As it's from sea weed, the taste is somewhat similar with real swallow bird nests
2.Swallow bird nest is naturally water soluble. So, the nests in the water will continuously dissolve until the solution reaches certain viscosity. For other brand, adding Sodium Alginate in their products will raise the solution viscosity to prevent the nest dissolution. GOLDEN NESTc resolves this dissolution problem with a natural approach: raising the swallow bird nests content in the soup. Our nest contents in the soup is 44%, more than double than any other brands in the market.
3.Swallow bird nest contains 2 sections, the body and the leg. The leg is a low quality nest. When it's cooked, it does not expand a lot (so mostly are in short strand forms) and tend to 'sink' in the soup.
To avoid the 'sink' effect in using this low quality nests, other brands add Sodium Alginate to raise the soup viscosity, so the nests will 'float' in the soup and from the side view of the bottle, the soup will look 'full' of nests. GOLDEN NESTc resolves this sinking problem with an easy natural approach: using high quality of nests.
That's why everybody will see our product contains long strains of nests. The nest contents are already high (the highest in the market). So GOLDEN NESTc soup doesn't only LOOK full, it IS full of nests.

Q. I 'm your customer for over 5 years. Every time I purchase your product, the quality impressively is about the same all the time. I understand the swallow nests are natural products, affected by many factors, weather, season, etc. How could you keep maintaining the quality all the time ?
A.The short answer is our large quantity turnover. Beside from our own farms, we purchase raw nests from swallow nests farms throughout South East Asia. We grade them, and we resell some (that have lower quality than our criteria) to other factories. And then we do another grading at the good raw nests, the best of them will be processed as GOLDEN NESTc products. As you see, there is NO magic for producing good swallow nests. The only secret is the best raw material quality.
